Diesel engine couplings

CENTAMAX

 

The CENTAMAX series is characterized by a highly efficient self-ventilating design. The high thermal capacity (HTC) design features a superior allowable power loss compared to other conventional couplings. This ensures longer equipment life in newer, more torsionally active low-emission diesel engine systems. The HTC design also makes CENTAMAX a cost-effective solution, as less costly coupling designs may be used in many applications. The torsional flexibility and elasticity of this rubber-in-shear design shifts critical resonances below operation speed. The drive is then subject to only minor continuous vibratory torques, protecting and extending the life of your equipment. Rubber elements for the CENTAMAX are available in different degrees of shore hardness. CENTAMAX elements are also offered in higher temperature CENTALAN-HT or silicone if required. This enables easy adjustment of the torsional flexibility of the couplings. Torsional vibrations are damped, and resonance reduced, minimizing the impact on your driven equipment. CENTAMAX is built with overload protection. Under extreme loads caused by torque overloads or generator short circuits, the flexible coupling slips through cogged outer teeth, protecting the engine and surrounding units from overload damage. CENTAMAX includes many plug-in variations for simple assembly with minimal mounting effort. The hubs can be customized to various mounting and application conditions. CENTAFLEX-A


CENTAFLEX-A series couplings are designed for high-performance and high-torsional elasticity. Built to damp torsional vibrations and shocks, CENTAFLEX-A protects your equipment and outperforms others in its class. Able to compensate for significant axial, radial, and angular misalignment, CENTAFLEX-A addresses the most common coupling and bearing failure-related issues. The electrically-insulating and thermally-resistant silicone or rubber design is fail-safe and offers backlash-free torque transmission, even under high-torque applications.

CENTAFLEX-H

The CENTAFLEX-H is a high-performance torsionally stiff coupling with a compact yet robust design. Offering high torsional stiffness while still accommodating minor misalignments, the CENTAFLEX-H noiselessly damps vibrations. This coupling was specially designed to connect diesel engines with hydrostatic pumps. Thanks to the high thermal stability of the CENTAFLEX-H, DuPont Hytrel element it’s suited to the high temperatures of an enclosed housing, making it an ideal solution. The CENTFLEX-H is also oil-resistant and maintenance-free.

 

 

CENTAFLEX-E

 

Built for a wide range of heavy-duty applications, the CENTAFLEX-E is a flexible shaft-to-shaft coupling ideal for situations where the safe transmission of high torque is paramount. Built to be extremely robust with a fail-safe jaw-type construction, the elastomeric elements of the CENTAFLEX-E series are subject to compressive stress. CENTADISC-M

 

The unique, proven steel membrane design of the CENTADISC-M series driveshaft transmits higher torques while it compensates for significant misalignment. With a lightweight design, the CENTADISC-M Series driveshaft features a tandem steel membrane and intermediate tube of steel or carbon-fiber reinforced plastic. The tandem membrane is radially stiff, but as a double cardanic system, is able to compensate for considerable axial misalignment.

The CENTADISC-M is ideally suited for ship propulsion, pump drives, cooling tower drives, papermills, printing, and general power transmission. With a modular design, components are easily exchanged without disturbing the connected shafts, making the CENTADISC-M a low-maintenance solution. Available in lengths up to 10 meters (30’) per section, the CENTADISC-M reduces the need for additional components such as bearings and foundations, making it a truly cost-effective driveshaft solution.

CENTAFLEX-K series is a compact two-piece coupling with high torsional stiffness and resonance-free operation. Ideally suited for hydrostatic driven construction equipment, lower-horsepower applications are easily handled by the CENTAFLEX-K. Built from shock-resistant glass-fiber reinforced plastic, the CENTAFLEX-K is highly robust with an axially short design. Durable and economical, the CENTAFLEX-K series is oil-resistant and suited for high ambient temperature applications. The series features blind assembly to minimize mounting effort requirements. Delivered with a preassembled hubstar and flywheel connections according to SAE, the CENTAFLEX-K is available with the CENTALOC spline clamping hub to eliminate fretting corrosion and is also available for non-standard flywheels.

                                                                                                                                                                                

 

CENTAFLEX-B

This flexible shaft coupling is extremely robust with a fail-safe design featuring an elastomeric element to withstand compressive stress. The CENTAFLEX-B is ideal for applications requiring an intermediate torsional stiffness, adaptability, and flexibility in design. Featuring an oil-resistant element design, the CENTAFLEX-B also offers a thermally-resistant variation for high-temperature applications. Delivered pre-assembled for easy mounting and installation, the couplings are a low-maintenance solution. CENTALOC clamping and taper lock bushes are an available add-on option to prevent wear and frictional corrosion in hub-to-shaft connections that aren’t backlash-free.

 

CENTAFLEX-E

 

The CENTAFLEX-E series couplings are available in numerous standard and specialized designs. This is an easy-to-use and simple-to-install solution. The CENTAFLEX-E series couplings offer axial blind assembly for mounting. The CENTAFLEX-E couplings feature rubber elements that sit firmly in the pockets of the hub, allowing for misalignment and cooling holes to allow air circulation.
